March 23, 2014- There is no question that American Consumers support the idea of hitting Mr. Putin where it hurts, in the pocket book.  There is also no question that the best way to accomplish this is by boycotting oil interests which benefit him directly.   The problem is that most consumers have no idea which gas stations to support and which to boycott.  This question is very hard to answer because so many of the big, international companies get a mix oil from a variety of international sources, including Russia.  Here, at The Truth About Oil we are in the process of examining every one of these relationships and making certain we follow the flow of funds right into Putin's pockets.

March 22, 2014- The occupation and annexation of Crimea from Ukraine has resurrected memories of the 40 year Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States.  While the players have changed, the ambitions remain the same.  How can the world address the aggression of a man who has thumbed his nose at the admonitions of the western world?  Sanctions?   So far the Obama Administration's "so-called" sanctions have been telegraphed and are more form than substance.  These sanctions neither punish, nor deter.

So what is the average citizen to do?  How can ordinary citizens send a message to a megalomaniac half way around the world?  Well, the answer is, they must speak a language that Mr. Putin understands-economics.  

There is no question that Mr. Putin's finances are intimately engaged in the worldwide oil economy.  Putin is more than a mere world leader concerned about the impact of Russian oil sales in the worldwide economy.  He is an individual beneficiary of enormous wealth from the state of petroleum sales throughout the world.   By Boycotting, and adversely impacting the sales of those oil conglomerates that benefit Mr. Putin, the message will be delivered more loudly and more clearly than any of President Obama's "so-called sanctions".
